I was tired of waking up every morning and deciding on whether to wear my booty boosting button up jeans, or bloat proof stretchy pants. Although most days (bloated or not) I went for the comfort, there were definitely days I was feeling extra and wanted to wear my sassy pants. Naturally, those were always days I woke up looking 8 months pregnant.

 

"I quickly became physically and emotionally drained by the side effects that came with the digestive disturbances in which I would experience day in and day out, no matter what I ate."

 

 

When I first started struggling with digestive disturbances, I was in highschool and working part-time at a pizza joint.
I was surrounded by pizza, dessert pizza, chicken wings and carbonated beverages. I was working long and unpredictable hours with minimal sleep and hourly boosts of caffeine.

 

Little did I know, that was the tipping point to my health declining.

 

After 2 years of treating my body like crap, I hit my breaking point. My reality check was when I realized I had lost 40 lbs in 3 months without even trying, I had full body skin rashes, I developed a fear of sleeping, I was angry, depressed and spent most of my days in the bathroom or in bed curled up in a ball trying to alleviate the indescribable pain I was suffering. The stress of going out in public and always looking for the closest bathroom eventually became too overwhelming. It came to the point that I would fake sickness to get out of events and school.

Luckily, I had a very concerned mother who started to research to help me regain my health because I wasn’t settling for being categorized as just having ‘IBS’. So, week by week, I started to change the transition to a gluten free diet. Thankfully, there were many amazing products on the market that make the transition easy.

 

 

I’ll never forget the day my mom came home and said,

 

“Miss, you will never believe the grocery store I found in Peterborough called Jo Anne’s Place. It has all the gluten free treats and people who can help you. It is amazing.”

 

 

Within a few weeks, I was beginning to feel like my old self but not 100%. With many trial and error tests, protocols and diets, we came to the conclusion that I was in fact celiac and needed to heal my body from the inside out. Although I didn't know where to start on my wellness journey, I did know that there weren't enough answers to support my needs and who were also suffering from similar health concerns.

 

After 4 years of battling through my own health concerns and trying to regain my health, I was reading an alive magazine from Jo Anne’s Place and turned to the last page where there was an advertisement for The Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. This was the missing piece for my own health and those who were also struggling with the same health concerns.

Septemeber 2012
I became my own guinea pig to optimize my digestion by healing my gut by taking a holistic approach to health and wellness by enrolling at The Canadian School of Natural Nutrition.

 

July 2014
I started working at Jo Anne's Place Health Foods as a product educator.

 

October 2014
I graduated as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist.

 

September 2015
I became a Dispensary Manager at Jo Anne's place where I connected with ND's in the Kawarthas.

 

October 2015

I got my first part-time Nutritionist gig at the YMCA in Peterborough.

 

December 2015

I partnered with Jo Anne's Place Health Foods as their first on-site Nutritionist.

 

February 2016

wealth of wellness was founded.

 

December 2016

I left the YMCA.

 

Summer of 2017

I connected with the most healing, supportive, kind and generous yoga gurus, Tiffany and Kristoff from Living in the Self to complete my 200hour classical hatha yoga teacher training. This is when I experienced the most growth physically, mentally and spiritually in my everyday + business life and my future goals.

 

October 2017 

I transformed my basement living room into a yoga studio and ran my first yoga series.

 

December 2017

We brought our first fur-baby home - Huntley.

 

Summer 2018

I worked all summer. 5 jobs to be exact.

It is also when I finally established my niche, digestion + skin health. Yes- 2 years later. I mean, I always knew I wanted to focus on digestion because of my own health concerns, but this summer my vision became very clear.

 

September 2018

I am running my 7th yoga series out of my home, leaving one job, turning 26 and feelin very business driven. 

I am connecting a few dots and checking off my goals list to build the foundation of wealth of wellness. 

I am reconnecting with Tiffany from Living in the Self and Rasa Ayruveda to further my education on traditional ayurvedic healing.

I am also taking an Advance Holistic Skincare course to specialize in gua sha, facial cupping, jade rolling, ayruvedic beauty, crystal healing, facial grids and earth medicine. 

 

 

October 2018

I am hoping for a vacation.

 

 

 

 

 

As a                                my main focus is supporting the body from the inside out with nutrition. I have been trained to assess nutritional gaps in individuals lifestyles which may
lead to sickness, disease or the need for a  lifestyle change. A change in one's lifestyle may be initiated from a health concern, a recommendation from a healthcare professional,
dietary sensitivities, an allergy or motivated by a weight loss goal.After a detailed assessment of diet, exercise, sleep, and symptoms, a realistic, detailed and individualized wellness plan will be put in place to help you reach optimal wellness.
